Active Energies Awarded Project in Montenegro

Active Energies has been selected to work on a new LEED^® for Homes International Pilot project in Montenegro.  The project will be one of the first LEED for Homes International projects, since the program’s move to allow projects outside of the United States.  Active Energies just completed work on another project within the international pilot in Istanbul, Turkey.

 In March 2013, Active Energies will send staff to Montenegro to meet with the local team and tour the project site.  During this site visit, the team will also work to identify any alternative compliance that might be necessary, due to differing construction types or local information resources.  Following this initial visit, Active Energies’ team of LEED specialists will return to the site twice more for verification and testing of the project, both during and after construction.  Upon completion of the testing and verification, the project team will submit the project for certification under the LEED for Homes International Pilot.

In February 2013, Active Energies completed work on another LEED for Homes International Pilot project.  The project, located in Istanbul, Turkey, is currently under review by the US Green Building Council for LEED for Homes Gold certification.  Upon certification, this project would be the first LEED for Homes International project in Turkey and among the first in the world outside of the United States.
