Megan Gilman, President This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
      Full Bio

Megan graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Her studies included coursework at the world-renowned School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia - the first university to offer undergraduate studies in the fields of photovoltaics and solar energy.

After working in the Vail Valley with a mechanical engineering firm, Megan co-founded Active Energies in 2006. It was the first firm of its type in Eagle County, and quickly expanded to serve the Aspen/Roaring Fork Valley and Denver Metro area as well. Since that time, Megan has worked with hundreds of homeowners, business owners, property managers, and municipalities to analyze, achieve, measure, and report efficiency upgrades.

Megan's continuing education studies include coursework in the Design and Installation of Photovoltaics through Solar Energy International, a certification by RESNET as a Home Energy Rater, qualifying her to provide homes with an ENERGY STAR® award for efficiency, as well as various builder tax credits. Megan also holds certifications through the Building Performance Institute (BPI) as an energy auditor, through the U.S. Green Building Council as a LEED® Accredited Professional, LEED Green Associate, LEED AP+ for Homes, LEED for Homes Green Rater, and LEED for Homes International Green Rater.
Community-wise, Megan holds positions on the Board of Directors of Holy Cross Energy, Eagle County EcoBuild Steering Committee, the Town of Vail's Sustainable Building Initiatives Committee, and has served as Chair for the Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability since 2007. In addition to her board involvement, Megan currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards, teaching classes on energy efficiency and sustainability.
